KİRİAKON (HIZIR İLYAS) KİLİSESİ
Hızır İlyas Kilisesi adıyla da anılan yapı, Sille’nin Subaşı Mahallesi’nde, Papaz Deresi’ne yakın bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Kayaya oyularak yapılmış olan kilise kapalı Yunan haçı planlıdır. Yapının batısında dikdörtgen planlı bir giriş bölümü (narteks) yer almaktadır. Kuzey, güney ve doğu duvarları at nalı şekilli kör kemerlerle hareketlendirilmiş olan bu bölümün tavanı büyük bir haç kabartması ile bezenmiştir.
Kilise, dört payenin oluşturduğu haç planı ile köşe odalarından oluşmaktadır. Payelerin üzerine kayaya oyulmuş pandantif geçişli birer kubbe yerleştirilmiştir. Doğuda yarım yuvarlak bir ana apsis ile her iki yanında yan apsisler yer almaktadır.
Kilisenin kuzey ve güney duvarları giriş bölümündeki at nalı formlu kör kemerlerle hareketlendirilmiştir. Kilisenin bitişiğinde uzun bir koridora açılan mekânlar bulunmaktadır. 10-11. yüzyıllar arasında inşa edildiği düşünülen eser, 20. Yüzyılda testi atölyesi olarak kullanılmıştır.
KIRIAKON (HIZIR ILYAS) CHURCH
The structure called also Hizir Ilyas Church is in Subasi District of Sille, located near the Papaz River. The carved church was planned as closed greek cross. There is a rectangular entrance section (narteks) in the west side of the building. North, south and east walls were pipped up by not sharp vaults shaped as horseshoe and the roof was decorated with a cross relief.
The church is consisted of cross plan with four section and corner rooms. There are pendentive domes carved to rock over the each section. In the east, there are half circle main apside and side apsides in each sides. The north and south walls is pipped up with horseshoe shaped not sharp vaults like the entrance door. There are some places opening to a long corridor near the building. The structure was built between the 10th and 11th centuries and was used as jug production factory in the 20th century.
